Custom Protein Expression Process Overview:
Our pay as you go approach of billing your projects in phases, allows both parties to evaluate the project on a step by step basis to determine if proceeding to the next step is desirable. This eliminates much of the risk for both companies. All projects are kept 100% confidential and you retain all rights to any material produced (DNA clones and protein).
Phase I: We will design and optimize your gene of interest for cloning into our E.coli-compatible expression vector, and will test for expression.
Phase II: If expression is successful, we will grow a 5 liter scale fermentation of your protein, and will develop folding and sample handling protocols.
Phase III: We scale up remaining material from the 5 liter fermentation and attempt to obtain highly pure and biologically active material (for functional proteins).
Phase IV: Shenandoah Biotechnology will perform all quality testing (outlined below) on your custom protein.
